2020 Durell Vineyard Chardonnay

The Durell Vineyard Chardonnay is elegant and delicate in 2020, with scents of tangerine oil, ginger, and pear compote.  It's smooth, silky, and soft in texture.  Without edges, the palate is almost weightless, yet it retains viscosity and presence with mango, guava, wet stones, and lemon curd across the palate, concluding with grilled bread, a hint of candied ginger, and citrus oil through the finish.  This wine should be held into the late summer or fall and then enjoyed over the next few years.
